IMSA
Chip Ganassi Racing wraps up the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season at Petit Le Mans from September 28 – October 1 in Atlanta.
The No. 01 and No. 02 Cadillac DPi-V.R cars are coming off a double podium finish at Road America and are aiming for a strong finish to the 2022 season to bring the DPi era to an end and make room for the LMDh class in 2023.
6-time INDYCAR SERIES champion Scott Dixon will join Renger van der Zande and Sebastien Bourdais in the No. 01 Cadillac, while another INDYCAR SERIES champion in Ryan Hunter-Reay will race with Earl Bamber and Alex Lynn in the No. 02.
Bourdais and van der Zande have secured four podiums and two wins in their last four races. They have also secured the most pole positions among the field this season. With a fifth pole position from either car at Petit Le Mans, they will match CGR’s 2nd-most poles secured in a single season (2004: 9; 2017: 5; 2016: 5). The CGR team is also chasing its fifth win of the season for the fifth time (2010: 9, 2008: 6, 2006: 6, 2011: 5).
This 10-hour race marks the 25th annual Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. Chip Ganassi Racing has three podium finishes at Petit Le Mans (2014, 2016, 2019) and is seeking its first victory.
