No. 01, No. 02 CGR Cadillacs Head North to CTMP
IMSA
The Chip Ganassi Racing’s Cadillacs will make their Canadian debut this weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The 2.459-mile, 10-turn course proves to be the leading racing and automotive performance facility in Canada, filled with elevation changes, blind turns and hairpin corners.
Sebastien Bourdais and Renger van der Zande have secured pole position four times this season, the most among the field, and they will look to set themselves up for success again as they seek improvement on their P3 finish at Watkins Glen last weekend.
No. 02 and No. 01 Cadillac DPi-V.R.s are looking to climb the points leaderboard with a win this weekend, as they sit 3rd and 4th respectively on the points leaderboard.
A win this weekend for CGR would be a historic one, as they would secure their 64th all-time win and move into sole possession of 3rd in IMSA series history (since 1969).
Renger van der Zande - No. 01 Cadillac DPi-V.R “Mosport is a fantastic track. It’s one of those tracks where you need a bit of bravery. We need to go for the win to give us the best points. The only chance for us to get that championship is to win and hope the other guys have a bad day. So, we’re focused on the win; that’s the only thing we care about.”
This is the first back-to-back race weekend of the IMSA season and will be the first IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship race in Bowmanville, Ontario, since 2019.
Tune in July 3 at 3 pm on NBC or Peacock.
